Miele, BMW, Apple, Ergobaby ... being mentioned in the same breath with such great names leaves us speechless for a moment - but just for a bit. Then in the next moment – joyful cheering! Yippee! Finally, it’s ours: the iF Design Award for our wonderful Metro Compact City Stroller! The award ceremony of the internationally acknowledged and renowned design award was last week, but our marketing stars, Sabine and Robin, still radiate with happiness reminiscing the event held at BMW World Munich.
The event was just impressive. The atmosphere of the location had already cast a spell on both our nominees. Nearly 2,000 guests - many of them from Asia - had come to this special night, all dressed up to the nines. After a welcome drink, we went to the award ceremony. In the following 2 hours, all winners were awarded in the following seven categories: Product, Packaging, Communications, Interior Design, Professional Concept, Service Design / UX and Architecture. Our Metro, with its outstanding
In honour of World Autism Awareness Week (1-7 April), we’re sharing Laura’s story of how a baby carrier became a useful tool for her beautifully unique son.

He cried a lot, seemed behind on his developmental milestones, everything about him was just “more” summarizes how I felt at the time, and babywearing kept us all together. Looking back now I realize that I was indeed suffering from postpartum depression and some PTSD, and carrying for a high needs infant seemed to exacerbate or increase the symptoms. Breastfeeding didn’t go well, I received some really terrible advice, and pumping seemed like a special kind of torture. So we didn’t, and then came on more guilt. Not the ideal birth, not breastfeeding? What kind of Mom was I? This is where the carrier came in.
It got us outside the house, this was where Chandler was most happy,

Safe sleep is an issue that regularly makes the news, and something parents may experience anxiety about. If your child is sleeping in your room, their own room or co-sleeping, we want to reduce the risk of SIDS. We can do this by putting our child down to sleep in a safe environment.
Here are some safe sleep tips :
1. Always place baby on their back to sleep, with their feet close to the end of their cot, crib or moses basket ("feet to foot").
2. The ideal room temperature is between 16-20°C.
3. Cot bumpers, bulky bedding and soft toys should be removed, as these can be a suffocation hazard.
4. Keep your baby away from smoke throughout your pregnancy and after birth.
5. Make sure baby’s mattress is flat, firm, waterproof and fits the cot, crib or moses basket with little to no gap around the edge.
6. Avoid letting your baby get too hot. Your baby should be dressed in light clothing for sleep with a lightweight blanket or well-fitting sleep bag.
7. When using a sleep bag, ensure it fits
The new Ergobaby On the Move Sleep Bag enables seamless switching from naptime to playtime and back again.
If little ones wake up bright and early, it’s a quick transformation and they’re able to run free and play until it's time to get dressed. Conversely, simply tuck little feet away at naptime or bedtime so everyone gets a good night’s rest.
The On The Move Sleeping Bag is perfect for lounging, playing, toddling and more, and its wealth of handy features makes it practical and easy to use. There’s even a travel-friendly harness opening for strollers and carseats.
The specially designed ‘just right’ fit means the length of the bag can be easily modified to prevent trips, and to allow the bag to grow with baby. So whether they’re rolling, crawling, toddling, walking or somewhere in between, the On The Move stays the perfect fit through every stage of development.

And the Oscar goes to… Ergobaby Metro Compact City Stroller.
Hip, hip, hooray!!! A round of applause! What fantastic news, which undoubtedly warrants popping the cork on yet another bottle of champagne. Technically speaking, this award isn’t an Oscar, but the iF Design Award is a world-renowned design label and is no less valuable to designers. And our chic little Metro run-around bagged the prize in the “Product” category. Wooohooo!
Once a year, the iF International Design GmbH presents awards in the following disciplines: Product, Packaging, Communication & Service Design/UX, Architecture & Interior Architecture as well as Professional Concept. It is the oldest independent design institution in the world, and “iF International” has long been established as the trademark for outstanding design services.
This year, the 67-strong jury of experts had the task of picking out the best from 6,375 submissions from 52 countries. What a mission! But our ultra-compact lightweight number simply
At Ergobaby, we are known for our award-winning baby carriers that give parents the freedom to enjoy life's big and small adventures. Now we’ve put our knowledge of ergonomics and comfort into developing a new compact city stroller. Here we explain the inspiration behind the Metro and how we used our experience in babywearing to develop a new stroller.
To create our new premium stroller designed specifically with urban parents in mind, we collaborated with American designer, HUGE, on developing the Metro Compact City Stroller. Following extensive research on parent’s needs, HUGE Design found there are a growing number of city dwelling parents that value high quality and functional products that can fit into their busy and active lives. This research was used by Ergobaby’s engineers to create the final look and design of the Metro stroller. The modern look was created by contrasting primary light blue and black to blend the ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ aspects.

In my practice, I hear a lot of questions about the “fourth trimester.” I specialise in perinatal mental health and this subject is near and dear to my heart.
What does the fourth trimester refer to exactly?
Dr. Harvey Karp started referring to the “fourth trimester” as the first three months of a new baby’s life. This recognizes that human babies are more like marsupials than other mammals; they aren’t really able to survive without us. Think about how horses are born able to walk. Due to the size of human brains and skulls, our babies
