It is important to note that the removable newborn insert is not mandatory to use. However, it does provide additional support around smaller babies to keep them centered in the Ergobaby Evolve bouncer and secured by the harness. Once baby has adequate control to keep themselves upright and centered in the bouncer and are of a size to fill out the space in the bouncer around the harness, usage of the insert can be discontinued. This is typically around 12lb/5.5kg. As children develop differently, it may be suitable to discontinue use before or after this weight as long as baby’s height/length does not exceed the size of the insert.
