Every body is beautiful in their uniqueness and individual shape. We don't mean small, tall, petite or strong. No!

You've probably noticed the incredible variety that nature produces in us humans. Male, female, transgender, non-binary, long or short torso, broad or narrow shoulders, much or little waist, large or small chest/breast, narrow or broad pelvis. We could go on forever.

Ergobaby makes a point to ensure that parents and babies of all shapes and sizes feel comfortable and safe when using our products. Our baby carriers are suitable for almost every baby and every body type. Whether it’s the shoulder straps or waist belt, everything can be adjusted from XS to XXL

Unequal pairings are not rare, and that's why parents with different statures often wonder whether the same baby carrier can fit both of them. The answer is Yes!

The waist belt of a Ergobaby baby carriers can be individually adjusted to your size and width. Just like the shoulder straps and the connecting chest strap. We recommend that petite parents wear the shoulder straps crossed over as many find this more comfortable.

How to find the individual setting for your baby carrier

Once you have found your perfect fit setting, keep your preferences by putting your carrier on using the T-shirt method. Check out our social media pages or YouTube channel.

You maybe asking yourself, what happens if your baby carrier is used by more than one person in everyday life?

We have a few practical tips that will make it easier for you to change between users:

Mark the connecting chest strap: You can easily loosen and tighten your baby carrier shoulder straps and the waist belt between users with no problem. The chest strap is the only part you adjust to your own size. If you mark where it needs to sit for your perfect position, in the middle of your shoulder blades, you can adjust the strap before putting it on. This makes your carrier easy to put on without needing any help.

Top Tip: If you wear your carrier shoulder straps crossed over, you don't need to consider this step.

Mirror check before you leave home: As your baby grows, check your carrier fit in the mirror at regular intervals. Make sure your chest strap is still correctly positioned between your shoulder blades. This will avoid the chest strap rising too high and experiencing neck pain.

Don’t worry: Even though the belt that wraps around your body is called a waist belt, it is actually worn on your body where your little one is close enough to kiss the top of their head.

For example, if a large baby is carried by a small person and you want to get the right height for your baby, the waist belt will sit more on the hip, compared to someone with a longer torso carrying the same baby. For a newborn, a baby carrier is often worn higher up your body, not on your waist, so it’s positioned on your body so you are close enough to kiss the top of your babies head.
